If you’re looking to escape the city and experience the refreshing nature of the Black Sea region, the Hidirnebi Plateau & Çal Cave Full-Day Tour from Trabzon offers the perfect balance of scenery, fresh mountain air, and rural landscapes.
Your day begins at 10:00 AM, with pick-up from your hotel (if selected) or from the central meeting point in Trabzon. Over approximately 8 hours, you will not only visit two iconic natural sites but also witness the authentic countryside life that defines this region.
Our first stop is Çal Cave, located at an altitude of 1,050 meters. Recognized as one of the longest accessible caves in the world, this natural wonder offers a unique walking experience accompanied by the gentle sound of water dripping from above and the peaceful flow of the underground stream running through the cave.
As you walk along the well-maintained pathway, you will observe impressive stalactites and stalagmites shaped over thousands of years. The cool atmosphere inside the cave creates a refreshing contrast, especially during warmer months. There will be time for photos and short breaks to fully enjoy the surroundings.
After the cave visit, we continue toward Hidirnebi Plateau, situated at approximately 1,600 meters above sea level. The drive itself is part of the experience. Passing through the rural areas of Akçaabat, you will see hazelnut orchards, hillside village houses, and small agricultural fields that reflect the region’s traditional lifestyle. This scenic route offers insight into the geography and cultural rhythm of the Black Sea countryside.
Upon arrival at Hidirnebi, the atmosphere changes completely. The humidity and noise of the city are replaced by crisp mountain air. During clear weather, you may enjoy panoramic views stretching toward Trabzon city and the vast Black Sea coastline. On misty days, the famous “sea of clouds” creates a mystical and photogenic landscape unique to the region.
You will have free time to take short walks across the plateau, capture stunning photographs, and enjoy the peaceful environment. Lunch break is given during this free time, where you may choose to dine at local restaurants serving regional specialties.
At the end of the tour, we return to Trabzon city center and drop you off at your original meeting point.
